''Negotiations with municipalities are almost concluded in both cities. The city that in which we are able conclude negotiations first, taking into account also some other factors, in that city we will open a "McDonald's" fast food restaurant. I, personally, would like to see it in Liepaja,'' explains Tedesko.

He also specified that it was already thought to open the fast food restaurant in Liepaja previously, but the city council had used its pre-emptive right for land, on which was planned to built the "McDonald's" branch, writes LETA.

''Either in Daugavpils or Liepaja, but it is in our plans to build a new restaurant next year. As a possible city for opening a branch of "McDonald's" outside Riga is also Jelgava. But right now we do not know, which city it will be," added Tedesko.

Tedesko admitted that the main rival of "McDonald's" in the Baltic states is "Hesburger", which has developed a considerable regional restaurant chain in the regions. Tedesko specified that "McDonald's" is also planning to develop a regional restaurant chain.

Next year it is planned to open two new restaurants in Riga, one of them next year, in spring, would open in the Riga suburb of Imanta.

Today, the eighth ''McDonald's'' fast food restaurant in Latvia was opened at the "Alfa" shopping mall, creating 50 new work places.

In the mid-September, "McDonald's" restaurant in Riga, on Merkelu Street 1, will be expanded, opening a cafe type "McCafe".

As reported, Premier Restaurants Latvia earned LVL 450,766 in profit last year, according to the Register of Enterprises' "Lursoft" database.

Last year the company's turnover was LVL 9,385,052.

Right now there are 580 employees working in "McDonald's".

"McDonald's" is the main food retailer in the world, and it has more than 32,000 restaurants, they are located in more than 100 countries.
