Tele2 turnover in Latvia in 2010 – LVL 93.6 mln, in Estonia – 99 mln EUR

Mobile telecommunications operator Tele2 in Latvia had LVL 93.6 million in turnover in 2010, which is 14% less than in 2009, LETA was informed by the company. Tele2 Eesti posted a turnover of 99 million EUR in 2010, a fall by 1% from 2009; the turnover grew however in the 3rd and 4th quarters by 3%.

Tele2 turnover in Latvia in 2009 was LVL 108.57 million – a 16.5% decrease on 2008, when the company's turnover was LVL 130.08 million.

 

The company's EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) decreased 15%, while the income from data transmission increased 165%.

 

Tele2 after-tax profit in 2009 amounted to LVL 30.04 million, which is 19.2% less than in 2008, when the company earned LVL 37.18 million.

 

Tele2 Eesti posted a turnover of 99 million EUR in 2010, a fall by 1% from 2009; the turnover grew however in the 3rd and 4th quarters by 3%, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

 

Operating profit before depreciation was 25 million EUR, a fall by 9%.

 

The turnover and profit do not include one-time provision of 1.83 million EUR connected to a court dispute.

 

Tele2 had 468,000 active mobile phone clients at the end of the year, by 5% more than in 2009.

 

Tele2 is a member of the Swedish Tele2 AB group that provides mobile communications, data transmission, fixed telephony and Internet services to approximately 25 million clients in eleven countries. In Latvia, more than one million clients use the services of Tele2.
