Comments in social networking portals have expressed assumptions that these chambers of commerce cancelled the meetings to show their support for last week's anti-oligarch rally in Riga, writes LETA.
However, spokespersons from both chambers of commerce deny this and point out that they are politically neutral organizations.
As reported, Skele has been named as one of Latvia's three so-called oligarchs by President Valdis Zatlers.
