Apinitis stiprais most popular beer brand in H1

Apinitis stiprais was the most popular beer brand in Latvia in the first half of 2011, whereas the cocktail Dzons was the most popular alcoholic beverage, according to data from the State Revenue Service's Excise Goods Department.

The cider Fizz was the second most popular alcoholic beverage, and the cocktail Dins was third. The cider Lucky dog was ranked fourth according to sales volume, followed by the sparkling wine Rigas sampanietis and the wine Kagor.

 

The vodka 3 graudu came in seventh, while the brandy Bonaparte was the eighth. The vodka Katyusha was the ninth most popular alcoholic beverage in the first-half, the sparkling wine Bosca - tenth.

 

According to the Revenue Service's data, Apinitis and Aldara Pilzenes, made by the Aldaris brewery, were the second and third most popular beer brands in Latvia, followed by the Garais garaks, Aldara gaisais, Cesu light, Garais, Cesu Premium, Livu Pilzenes, and Lacplesis dzintara beer brands.

 

In the first half of 2011, the three companies distributing the most alcoholic beverages for retail in stores were Latvijas Balzams, Cesu alus and Liviko. Aldaris, Cesu alus and Cido grupa distributed the most of beer brands, LETA reported.
