Russian businessman buys 91.89% of Valmieras piens shares

Russian businessman Evgeny Varov has bought 91.89% of shares in the joint-stock dairy company Valmieras piens, Nozare.lv was informed by Juris Petersons, representative of the previous owner of the company's controlling interest – Privato aktivu parvalde.

Harijs Panke, who was previously Valmieras piens council chairman, will now lead the company. During this transaction, Varov consulted the independent investment banking and financial advisory company IBS Prudentia and the law firm Glimstedt and Partners.

 

"Latvian dairy products have always been highly appreciated on the Russian market, especially in Moscow and St Petersburg regions. These products have considerable export potential on Russian and EU markets. Valmieras piens is a well-managed company, which is established in one of the best dairy areas in Latvia and has all the necessary certificates to export its production to the EU, Russia and other countries," said Varov.

 

The businessman is convinced that Valmieras piens capacity will be significantly raised thanks to the increasing export, which will allow to improve the company's efficiency.
