Snaige to produce refrigerators for Italian SMEG

Print versionSnaige, the only producer of refrigerators in the Baltic states, which has subsidiaries in Alytus and Kaliningrad, started producing refrigerators for SMEG, the biggest Italian manufacturer of kitchen appliances.

This year Snaige plans to produce 5,000 refrigerators, which will be transported to Italia, Spain and Portugal with the trademark of SMEG, reports the daily Verslo Zinios.
Although this amount is rather unimpressive for the company, which sold 653,000 refrigerators in 2007, Snaige CEO Gediminas Ceika says that in this case prestige is important, and not the amount.
SMEG is the trademark of "premium" category, and its choice of Snaige means the recognition at European level. At the moment, the company sells 62 % of its products with its own trademark, and the remaining part – under the names of foreign clients.
