Estonia may enlarge fish export to Ukraine

Print versionEstonian Agriculture Minister Helir-Valdor Seeder met the director general of the Ukrainian fisheries board today to pave the road toward more export of fish products to the large non-EU market.

The official, Viktor Dronik, said that Ukraine was
interested in greater import of Estonian fish, which has traditionally been a
popular item in markets to the east, writes new,.err.ee.
Ukraine has already lowered tariffs and confirmed it is attending to
simplifying rules on fish import, ERR
radio news reported.
Seeder said the problem currently is that a flat tariff is charged on all
fish products regardless of the unit price.
After Norway and Iceland, Estonia is the third largest fish importer to
Ukraine.
