BC, Riga, 10.05.2013.Print version
Register of Enterprises' Chief State Notary Ringolds Balodis steps down today in Latvia, informs LETA.

After a meeting with Justice Minister Janis Bordans last week, during which the chief state notary's work and the Register of Enterprises' plans for the next five years were discussed, Balodis decided that he would not be a candidate for a second term. Bordans was appointed chief state notary by the government in June 2008.

Balodis also said he was pleased with the agreement he had reached with the justice minister. Balodis is a professor at the University of Latvia's Law School, and now he will be able to devote all time to his scientific projects in Latvia and abroad, he said.

A competition for the vacancy will be announced in the near future, Bordans' press secretary Liga Adamsone told LETA.

According to the State Civil Service law, candidates for the Register of Enterprises' chief state notary are nominated by the justice minister and approved by the government.
