Food and Veterinary Service: Japan's market could open for Lithuania

On Thursday, Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT) Jonas Milius received the Deputy Japan's Ambassador Shinichi Yamanaka. During the meeting, the issues related to the opportunities of the bilateral cooperation and the perspectives in the sphere of the export of the meat products were being discussed, informs LETA/ELTA.

According to Milius, Lithuania hoped that the Japan's market will soon be open for Lithuania's meat products. Experts of the VIM were negotiating with the Lithuania's Embassy in Japan as well as with the officers of the responsible institutions about the export of the Lithuania's meat products.
Yamanaka presented the detailed information about the current situation in the Pacific Ocean region.
Milius highlighted that Lithuania presiding for the European Union (EU) Council supported Japan's attempts to reduce the pollution of the environment, the food products and the feeds in the region.
