House of Blackheads in Riga could become temporary presidential chancery

Print versionA task force set up to find temporary premises for President Andris Berzins' chancery while the Riga Castle is being renovated, will suggest the House of the Blackheads, the Finance Ministry informed LETA.

The task force has conceptually approved suggesting the House of the Blackheads, which in fiscal terms offers the best conditions, taking into account the cost of moving into the new premises, the rent and other expenditures.
A report on three possible solutions for new temporary premises for the President's Chancery will be presented to the government on March 23. Most probably the government will review the report at its next meeting on March 27, the Finance Ministry informs.
Finance Ministry State Secretary Sanita Bajare said previously that the President's Chancery required premises for work as well as representational purposes, therefore there were few choices available.
