Pan-Baltic tourism promotion campaign "Great Baltic Travel 2010" to be launched on May 12

Great Baltic Travel 2010 is a campaign for adventurers and tourism devotees in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Active travelers are invited to explore unique sightseeing, historical buildings, architectural beauties, adventure and water parks, museums and areas of outstanding natural beauty of the Baltic States.
Organizers have put forward 30 unique tourism places all over the Baltic states – ten in each country. Participants of the campaign are given a possibility to find out new places of interest in their homeland, as well as in neighbouring countries, as well as win prizes.
Maija Poca, the specialist of Latvian State Agency for Tourism Development, told LETA that the campaign is organised for the fourth year in a row.
"This event is both entertaining, and educating, travelers often know foreign countries' architecture objects and most beautiful nature sights much better than the near-by sightseeing places, which are often at the hand's reach," told Poca.
Interested parties are invited to visit historical places, adventures and water amusement parks, as well as most beautiful nature sights.
"Assisted by tourism information centers, 30 places have been chosen in overall, ten in each country," Poca pointed out.
In Latvia, tourists are offered to see Godesverder in Turaida, float Daugava with a wiking boat Lacplesis, to visit Aviation Technique Museum, S.Eizenstein Communication Center in Keipene, go to Aglona, have a trip on a river boat New Way, visit Ventspils-based Irbenes radar facility near, Ventspils Water Park, and observe wild horses in Pape Nature Park.
In Lithuania, tourists have a possibility to enjoy adventure and entertainment park One, stone sculpture park Vilnoja, Vilnius Old Town most interesting sightseeing objects, including Vask Figure Museum which exhibits more than a hundred objects, Sea Museum in Salakas village, Anyksciai active recreation place – summer sledge track, manor Bistrampolis, Siauliai and Frenkelis villa, Klaipeda, Parnidis nature path, Curonian Spit, Nida and Kaunas.
In Estonia, Seidla windmills, Soomaa National Park, Jaaniraotu Bird Park, Kasmu Captains Village and Estonian Broadcasting Museum are offered for all interested.
