4ATA publishes salaries at Riga and Ventspils ports

This morning, the self-titled "Fourth Reawakening People's Army" activist group (4ATA) today published information on salaries paid at the freeports of Riga and Ventspils. Even though both enterprises are profitable, these figures do look out of proportion, 4ATA activist Neo emphasizes in his comment at the social network "Twitter". The report covers salaries paid at the Freeport of Riga from September 2007 to November 2009.

In September 2007, there were 267 employees at the Freeport of Riga, and their average monthly salary was LVL 1,129. By November last year, the port's staff increased to 298, and the average salary to LVL 1,306, informs LETA.

 

The largest average monthly salary at the Freeport of Riga was paid in July 2008 – LVL 2,542.

 

September 2007, the largest monthly salary at the Freeport of Riga was LVL 5,250. 29 employees were paid monthly salaries of over LVL 2,000, by November 2009 their number increased to 34, whereas the salary for the best-paid port official grew to LVL 6,156 a month.

 

The data on the Freeport of Ventspils deal with the time period from January 2008 to November 2009.

 

In January 2008, 269 people worked at the Freeport of Ventspils, and their average monthly salary was LVL 1,400. By November 2009, the port's staff decreased to 247 people, and the average monthly wage to LVL 682.

 

On the other hand, the largest monthly salary at the Ventspils Freeport was whopping LVL 18,564 in January 2008. By November 2009, the best-paid Ventspils Freeport official had his/her salary cut to LVL 6,050. 37 port employees and officials were paid salaries of over LVL 2,000 in January 2008, but their number decreased to just four by November 2009.

 

Also, nine persons were paid more than LVL 8,000 at the Ventspils Freeport in January 2008. In November 2009, there were three such persons.

 

4ATA has so far published salary details at the companies Rigas satiksme, Rigas siltums, Latvenergo and its subsidiaries, the Bank of Latvia, the Financial and Capital Market Commission, Parex banka, Highway Traffic Safety Administration and several state-owned road maintenance companies.
