Ventspils nafta terminals’ turnover down 8.4% in 2 months

Ventspils nafta terminals (VNT), a subsidiary of the joint-stock company Ventspils nafta saw its turnover decrease 8.4% during the first two months of the year 2011, as the spokesperson for Ventspils Port, Inga Ievina, informed LETA.
VNT handled 1.7 million tons of oil products in January-February, which is 82,000 tons or 4.42% less than over the same period last year. This year, the company did not reload crude oil, whilst in January-February 2010 it handled 80,000 tons of crude oil.
The situation improved in February. VNT's turnover of oil products, compared to January, increased by 63,000 tons.
VNT is one of the largest oil and oil product handling terminals in the Baltic States.
Ventspils nafta holds 51% of VNT shares, whereas the Swiss-registered company Eurotank Holding Sarl owns 49% of VNT shares.
As reported, VNT handled 9.3 million tons of oil products in 2010, which is two million tons less than in 2009.
