Venezuela plans to increase oil loads transported via Klaipeda Port, the Lithuanian sea news portal Jura reports.
The statement was made by Venezuelan Ambassador to Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez. At the time being, Venezuelan oil was transported through the port of Klaipeda once – in August 2010 when a tanker Minerva Helen delivered Venezuelan oil in Klaipeda.
Head of Lithuania-based oil company Klaipedos Nafta – Rokas Masiulis stated that the company was considered to be the most reliable partner in oil transportation.
Currently, the agreement on Venezuelan has not yet been signed, as Klaipedos Nafta” is not satisfied with the proposed handling prices.
Masiulis expects that Venezuelan oil transportation through Klaipeda could be started in the summer.
