Service Drivery will reduce company transportation costs by 25%

Juhan Tere, BC, Tallinn, 12.12.2008.Print version
Oskando, the leading Estonian telematics company, launched a vehicle management service Drivery, which helps companies reduce their transportation costs and enhance the productivity of both employees and the company as a whole. Drivery is most useful in companies where transportation costs constitute an essential part of business activities and expenses.

Drivery provides an overview of the location and movement of company vehicles via a vehicle tracking device and an internet browser. Drivery service also offers reports on distance travelled, fuel consumed and many other indicators reflecting the use of company vehicles.

Oskando estimates that the service will reduce the expenses of a company by approximately 25 per cent, mostly due to less fuel consumed and more efficient use of working hours by employees. According to the users of the service, Drivery also improves employer-employee relations inside the company since it increases efficacy and decreases vagueness and arguments concerning the work done.

Among other functions, Drivery also aggregates data for compiling an electronic diary that separates work-related and private use of company cars by employees. When using the electronic diary, companies will no longer need to pay the fringe benefit tax and this alone will help companies save thousands of kroons a month per each vehicle.

“While in good times companies focused on growing their business regardless of cost, today their eyes are fixed on cutting any extra costs,” Kristi Hakkaja, the CEO of Oskando explained BC. “A far-sighted manager of any company knows very well that making a company leaner is not only necessary for survival today but also an important prerequisite for success and growth when the economic situation stabilizes.”

Urmet Itse, the Technical Director of Nordcity Center OÜ can see various benefits in the use of Oskando’s Drivery service. “Within the first months of using the service, our company’s expenses on fuel decreased considerably, there were no more disputes concerning the kilometres covered and the trips employees had taken for personal reasons,” Itse commented. “In addition to an improved emotional atmosphere in the company, we also noticed that people started using their working hours more efficiently.”

Drivery vehicle management service is an essential tool for enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of companies, especially those engaged in transportation of goods; management of mail and parcels; sales activities; transportation of people; telecom, delivery, maintenance, breakdown and alarm services.

Drivery complements Oskando’s existing assortment of telematic services that cater to the needs of both small businesses as well as large companies. In addition to Drivery, Oskando also offers a free tracking service SeeMe targeting mostly small enterprises and private customers, and custom solutions to businesses with more advanced needs in fleet management.

In order to use Drivery, a device will be installed in the vehicle that uses a SIM-card to exchange data with Oskando server and which will track the vehicle on a Google map.
