The number of deaths in November in Latvia was 16% higher than a year ago

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in November of this year, 2 520 people died in Latvia, which is 346 deaths or 15.9% more than in November 2019.
The gradual increase in the number of deaths compared to the data of 2019 has been observed since September (0.4% in September, 0.9% in October), while in the first 11 months of this year in total the increase in the number of deaths is 1% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Provisional indicators of the year 2020, which include data on deaths in breakdown by month, and final data of the year 2019, where monthly data are summarized based on the date of the actual event were used in comparison of data with the corresponding period last year.
