Actual unemployment rate in Latvia at 7.9%

Data of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) conducted by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in November 2020 the actual unemployment rate comprised 7.9%, which is 0.2 percentage points more than in October, writes LETA.
The unemployment rate registered by the State Employment Agency (SEA) accounted for 7.4% and compared to October, it has not changed.
An unemployment rate increase may be observed when comparing the data to the November of the previous year – by 2.1 percentage points in the actual unemployment rate and by 1.6 percentage points in the registered unemployment rate.
In November 2020 there were 76,600 unemployed in Latvia, which is 1,700 more than in October and 20,700 more than in the respective period of the previous year.
During the last nine months since the first state of emergency, compared to the actual monthly unemployment data of February 2020, the number of unemployed has increased by 5,000.
