Lithuania extends border control with Latvia and Poland until April 13

Lithuanian Minister of Interior Rita Tamasuniene has extended border control on the country's borders with Latvia and Poland to implement the existing ban for foreigners to enter the country, informed LETA/BNS.
The border control was extended until April 13.
Lithuania resumed border control on March 14. Under EU law, border control within the Schengen Area can be initially restored for ten days and then extended for another 20 days but the total period cannot exceed two months.
Lithuania banned foreigners from coming to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Lithuanian only allows foreigners to cross its territory to reach their come countries.
