Number of coronavirus cases in Estonia rises to 79 on Friday
Since Jan. 31, altogether 701 COVID-19 tests have been carried out. The health institutions with the capability for coronavirus testing at present are the Health Board, University of Tartu Hospital, Synlab, North Estonia Medical Center, East-Viru Central Hospital and Parnu Hospital.
A coronavirus sample is taken at the discretion of a healthcare professional who determines the need for analysis based on a case definition, that is the symptoms that have occurred, and whether the person has recently been at risk of developing the disease or may have been exposed to the coronavirus.
According to the Health Board, the high-risk areas are China, Italy, Iran and South Korea.
Moderate-risk areas include Germany -- North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria; France -- Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Ile-de-France; Tyrol ski resorts in Austria; Spain -- Madrid, Catalonia and the Basque Country; Japan; Singapore.
The risk of infection is high for people in countries with widespread local transmission.
