Canada's Teshmont Consultants to consult Lithuanian-Polish Harmony Link project

BC, Vilnius, 27.10.2020.Print version
As Lithuania and Poland gear up for the construction of a new submarine power interconnection, Harmony Link, experts from Canadian engineering consultancy Teshmont Consultants will consult the project, writes LETA/BNS.

Lithuanian power transmission system operator Litgrid said on Monday it had signed a contract with the Canadian company. It was earlier reported that the planned work was valued at up to 0.45 mln euros, excluding VAT.

Gerda Krasauske, director of Litgrid's Strategic Infrastructure Department, says the foreign consultants will assess documentation, for example, technical specifications, and will consult on technical, commercial, and regulatory issues during the project's implementation.

Harmony Link, the 700 MW submarine HVDC cable, is the largest project of the Baltic countries’ scheme to synchronize its power grids with those of continental Europe. The project is valued at around 680 million euros, including 493 million euros in assistance allocated under the Connecting Europe Facility several weeks ago.
