Finnish shipper Viking Line opens limited passenger service

As a result of the decision by the governments of Estonia and Finland to gradually ease some of the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Finnish shipper Viking Line is partially reopening passenger service from Thursday, informed LETA/BNS.

Permitted traffic includes travel for work and other travel defined as unavoidable by the authorities. Viking Line recommends that all passengers familiarize themselves with the instructions issued by the authorities prior to travelling.


The restrictions are in effect until May 31.


Four of Viking Line's seven vessels will continue their service between Finland and Sweden, the Aland Islands and Estonia.


Service between Helsinki and Stockholm will be suspended until at least May 31.


Cruises from Stockholm to Mariehamn with M/S Viking Cinderella will be suspended until at least June 15.


Viking XPRS, which normally operates between Helsinki and Tallinn, will be out of service until at least May 31.
