The power transmission system operator carried out the renovation project jointly with Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (ESO), the electricity distribution company.
The project cost 717,000 euros (excluding VAT) in total, including 340,600 euros in EU funds.
"These upgrades will further increase the attractiveness of the peninsula and provide more opportunities for business and tourism development on the Curonian Spit," said Gerda Krasauske, the director of the Strategic Infrastructure Department at Litgrid.
The transformer substation in Juodkrante, a village on the Curonian Spit, was upgraded as part of the project.
