Around EUR 68 mln has been invested in the development of the new mall, which will create some 500 new jobs.
Saga, which is located next to the IKEA mall, means new development potential for Mezciems neighborhood of Riga and Stopini municipality, said Saga developer VPH Latvia Director Juris Barkans.
Saga will bring together shopping, recreation, sports, and an office center. In line with the latest catering industry trends, it will be the first shopping mall in Latvia with a special street food zone with restaurants and cafes, and the first mall with a preschool.
The largest tenants at Saga will be home improvement stores Buvniecibas ABC and Jysk, and Rimi retail chain. The world's largest sporting goods retailer Decathlon will also operate a store at Saga.
Total area of Saga will be 57,000 square meters, with a parking lot for 2,000 automobiles.
