Fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), part of Apollo Group, the biggest entertainment provider in Estonia, is to open a new restaurant in Rocca al Mare shopping mall in spring 2021, informs LETA/BNS.

"We're pleased to be able to offer people the opportunity to also have a meal in this world renowned restaurant chain outside the city center," head of Rocca al Mare shopping center Kristjan Maaroos said in a press release, adding that Estonians are increasingly interested in seeing foreign flavors available at shopping malls; in particular, there is demand for fast, modern and affordable street food.

Rocca al Mare shopping center currently accommodates 134 stores and 14 eating venues.

Kristiine Keskus and Rocca al Mare shopping malls are owned by Citycon, owner, manager and developer of urban, grocery-anchored shopping centers in the Nordic region. Shopping centers managed by Citycon in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Estonia number 41.

Apollo Group has previously announced that it is planning to open over 20 KFC restaurants in the Baltic states within the next three years.

Apollo Group belongs to UP Invest, an investment company owned by Estonian businessman Margus Linnamae and Ivar Vendelin. Through other companies, UP Invest owns news agency BNS and Postimees.
