Coface: Number of Lithuanian, Latvian companies in major CEE company list grows

The number of Lithuanian and Latvian companies has gone up in the 2019 ranking produced by Coface, one of the leading trade credit insurance and risk management companies. Meanwhile, the number of Estonian companies has gone down, informs LETA/BNS.

The number of Lithuanian companies went up from 19 to 22, and that of Latvian companies rose from 7 to 8. The number of Estonian companies dropped from 11 to six, Coface said in a statement.


Among the Lithuanian companies, Vilniaus Prekyba reached the highest position in the ranking, going up from the 16th to the 21st position, and is ahead of the long-standing leader, Orlen Lietuva, which went down from the 18th to the 22nd position.


Vilniaus Prekyba is the only company in the Baltic states to get into the Top-10 of major companies in the CEE region.


Several major companies also fell out of the ranking. They include Kesko Senukai, Viciunu Grupe, Spectator and ESO. But new companies got onto the list, including Avia Solutions Group, Agrorodeo and Linas Agro. Circle K Lietuva and Mazmena are also on the list, having improved their positions considerably.


All in all, there are 163 Polish companies on the list, as well as 78 Czech, 73 Hungarian, 58 Romanian, 35 Slovak, 22 Lithuanian, 18 Bulgarian, 18 Slovenian, 13 Croatian, 8 Serbian, 8 Latvian and 6 Estonian companies.
