Covid-19 Estonia: Installation of defense forces' field hospital next to Saaremaa hospital starts
Kuressaare Hospital announced on its Facebook page that the convoy of trucks bringing the hospital arrived in the island capital on Wednesday morning. To free up space for the field hospital, the tent of the sampling point for coronavirus testing has relocated to Ravila street behind the building.
The field hospital's staff will be made up of one doctor, two intensive care nurses, one anesthesiology nurse, four emergency medicine nurses, one midwife, five general nurses, four paramedics of the defense forces and 15 conscript paramedics. The conscripts will serve as assistant personnel at the hospital.
The field hospital will have 20 bed places enabling the provision of additional oxygen to patients. Eight of the places are with stepped-up oxygen capacity for patients in critical condition.
Kuressaare Hospital added that 25 patients are undergoing treatment at their hospital at present, one of whom needs intensive care.
