Estonia's Vapiano to open new restaurant in Riga next week

The Vapiano chain of restaurants, owned by the leading Baltic entertainment company Apollo Group, is expanding to the Latvian market and will open its first restaurant in the state at the Origo shopping mall in Riga on Dec. 15, informed Appollo Group`s representative.

While the restaurant will first only sell food to go, dine-in service is to be made available next year, according to Vapiano.


The Vapiano restaurant will cover an area of 517 square meters on two floors in the Origo shopping mall.


Vapiano restaurants currently number five in the Baltics -- three in Tallinn, one in Tartu and one in Vilnius. One more restaurant is planned to open next year in Riga and two in Lithuania.


Apollo Group is owned by Ivar Vendelin and Margus Linnamae. Linnamae also owns also news agency LETA/BNS and Postimees.
