The two new TV channels will replace LNT and Kalans 2 as of March 1, 2020.

On November 20, 2019, NEPLP received an application from All Media Latvia with a request to issue a national commercial broadcasting license to TV3 Life, cancelling at the same time LNT channel's license, as well as to issue a transborder commercial broadcasting license to TV3 Mini, cancelling the license of Kanals 2.

Upon consulting the Competition Council and requesting additional information from the media group, NEPLP decided to grant the licenses to said TV channels. The new broadcasting licenses are valid starting March 1, 2020.

LETA was told at the media group that the new TV channels' programs would be developed, keeping in mind the existing portfolio of TV channels, as well as two significant groups of TV audience - women and children. TV3 Life will offer easy and inspiring content for leisurely time and TV3 Mini will be targeting kids, offering "exciting and educating content in Latvian".

Since the beginning of December 2019, LNT has been broadcasting news and informative programs produced by TV3 as part of the reform launched by All Media Baltics.

Since December, All Media Baltics has been working under the TV3 brand in the Baltic states. The media group plans to introduce changes in the portfolio of TV channels, developing its products to better meet interests of the audience.

The company said that the news section of TV3 will be expanded, incorporating a part of the news contents created by LNT news service and developing a joint news service for the group.
