Latvia: Shopping centers, except for groceries, pharmacies and construction stores, to be closed on weekends to curb Covid-19
BC, Riga , 24.03.2020.Print version
To curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, all gyms will be closed in Latvia, and shopping centers will have to stay closed on weekends, Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) told journalists Tuesday.
The requirement will not apply to pharmacies and food stores, veterinary stores, gardening and construction materials stores, as well as optical product stores.
The decision to shut down gyms and close shopping centers on weekends has been taken to prevent people from gathering in large groups and thus curb the spread of the coronavirus.
