Riga to allow outdoor cafes also in winter
BC, Riga, 30.10.2020.Print version
Bars and cafes in Riga will be allowed to use their outdoor terraces also during the winter season, said Riga Mayor Martins Stakis in a press conference today, reports LETA.
He cited epidemiologists who say that the possibility to contract Covid-19 outdoors is considerably lower than indoors. Thus, supporting businesses, the Riga City Council has decided to allow outdoor cafes throughout the year.
"This will also promote residents and guests of Riga to stay outdoors and provide support to the crisis-stricken catering sector," Stakis said.
According to the present rules, outdoor terraces have to be removed by October 31.
