The State Border Guard, monitoring the Latvian border, inspected 1,344 people, and about 30 percent of arrivals to Latvia had not registered on the covidpass.lv system as required for curbing Covid-19 outbreak, said Border Guard representative Ivars Ruskulis in an interview with the Latvian public television today, writes LETA/BNS.

So far the officials have not launched administrative procedures but offered people to register on the system right away, and the people completed their registration. Ruskulis reminded that a fine of up to EUR 2,000 can be imposed for failure to meet the epidemiological requirements.

As reported, as of October 12, all persons crossing the border of the Republic of Latvia are required to fill in an electronic questionnaire on the covidpass.lv website. Completion of the contact information form is mandatory for all travelers, and it must be completed no earlier than 48 hours before crossing the Latvian border.
