Haulers claim Belarus plans to bar Lithuanian trucks
BC, Vilnius, 09.09.2020.Print version
The Lithuanian National Road Carriers Association LINAVA says it has information from colleagues that Belarus might bar Lithuanian haulers. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, however, says it has no official information on that, reported LETA/BNS.
Lithuanian's commercial attaché in Belarus Julijus Glebovas also says he has heard such reports but nobody's speaking about it officially.
"We hear information from individual haulers, we have sent official inquiries to related associations, and w are keeping contact with the Lithuanian Embassy in Belarus, but we have no official documents. Haulers are speaking with their suppliers, cargo recipients in Russia and Belarus," Romas Austinskas, president of LINAVA, told.
"We have informed the Ministries of Transport and Foreign Affairs about those concerns but they are not official," he said.
The Transport Ministry told it has no official information about Belarus' plans, and Lithuania's commercial attaché Glebovas also said he only heard rumors.
The delfi.lt news website was the first to reports on Belarus' possible actions.
