Lithuania's consumer prices edge down 0.1% in Feb vs Jan
BC, Vilnius, 09.03.2020.Print version
Lithuania's consumer prices edged down by 0.1% in February from January, taking a downward turn for the first time since August 2019, Statistics Lithuania said on Monday.
The 12-year inflation rate last month inched down to 2.8%, from 3% in January, but the average annual inflation rate ticked up to 2.5%, from 2.4%.
The monthly consumer price index was mostly driven down by a decline in prices for fuels and lubricants, footwear, and solid fuel.
This was mostly offset by an increase in prices for vegetables, fruit, package holidays, non-durable household goods, milk and milk products, and cheese and eggs.
Prices for consumer goods slid by 0.4% in February compared with January, but rose by 1.7% from a year ago. Services prices were up by 0.6% m-o-m and by 5.3% y-o-y.
